Our Next Attacks Will Shock Imo State And Nigeria – Militants

The Niger Delta Red Squad, the militant group operating from the Ohaji Egbema axis of Imo State, has alerted the Imo State Government and law enforcement agencies in the state of the expiration of their two weeks cease fire, adding that, the next phase of their operation would take the state by storm.

The group, which earlier said their agitation was against the inordinate exploitation and marginalisation of the oil bearing communities in the state, warned that Imo State and Nigeria will be shocked by their next attack.

A terse statement posted on their Facebook page read, “Our two weeks seize- fire is almost coming to an end, and then we will start full operations. Imo State and Nigeria will be shocked at what we are going to do in our forthcoming attacks.”

The group seemed particularly peeved by comments made to the news media by the Brigade Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze in Imo State, Brigadier – General Kay Ishyaku , though they did not specify the exact statement that got their attention.

According to another post on their Facebook wall, the group said, “Since the Brigade Commander of 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, thinks he can talk to media, let him wait for us at Owerri, we will teach Imo State lessons they will never forget as soon as our two weeks cease-fire elapses.

Rochas Okorocha and Army General Ishyaku should get ready. We are coming.”

In an earlier statement issued by the group last month, they had vowed to cripple the activities of oil companies operating in their area for allegedly exploiting the community without living up to their responsibilities to their hosts.

The statement read in part, “Oil companies started operations in our community since 1957 but till date , we have nothing to show as benefit and for the Imo State government, we will make sure you make no further gains from Ohaji Egbema.”

Continuing it read, “Since the creation of Imo State in 1976, neither Imo State Government nor oil companies have remembered us, we have been neglected and abandoned. No electricity , no tarred roads, no drinking water, no hospital, no youth employment or empowerment.

We shall destroy everything in Imo State that was built with our oil money. ”

Bin Laden’s Son Threatens Revenge For Father’s Assassination

The son of slain al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, has threatened revenge against the U.S. for assassinating his father, according to an audio message posted online.

Hamza bin Laden promised to continue the global militant group’s fight against the U.S. and its allies in the 21-minute speech entitled “We Are All Osama,” according to the SITE Intelligence Group.

“We will continue striking you and targeting you in your country and abroad in response to your oppression of the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and the rest of the Muslim lands that did not survive your oppression,” Hamza said.

“As for the revenge by the Islamic nation for Sheikh Osama, may Allah have mercy on him, it is not revenge for Osama the person but it is revenge for those who defended Islam.”

Osama bin Laden was killed at his Pakistani hideout by U.S. commandos in 2011 in a major blow to the militant group which carried out the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Documents recovered from bin Laden’s compound and published by the U.S. last year alleged that his aides tried to reunite the militant leader with Hamza, who had been held under house arrest in Iran.

Hamza, now in his mid-twenties, was at his father’s side in Afghanistan before the 9/11 attacks and spent time with him in Pakistan after the U.S.-led invasion pushed much of al Qaeda’s senior leadership there, according to the Brookings Institution.

Introduced by the organisation’s new chief Ayman al-Zawahiri in an audio message last year, Hamza provides a younger voice for the group whose ageing leaders have struggled to inspire militants around the world galvanized by Islamic State.

“Hamza provides a new face for al-Qaeda, one that directly connects to the group’s founder. He is an articulate and dangerous enemy,” according to Bruce Riedel of Brookings.

If You Voted Buhari, Don’t Complain About Hardship – OPC Founder Fredrick Fasehun Says

The founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr Fredrick Fasehun has called on those who voted President Buhari into office not to complain about the hardship in the country.

The OPC leader also said Buhari has not met any of his expectations at all.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Fasehun said they should ask God to help the President rather than complain.

He said “Nigerians voted for Buhari. They voted for change. The hard¬ship and suffering they are going through now is part of that change. They should not be complaining.

“Instead of complaining, they should be praying for Buhari. Ni¬gerians should pray for him, and for Buhari himself Nigerians were cheering him initially but now they are getting despondent. Buhari should not wait until Nigerians start jeering at him as a result of failed promises.”

Frederick Fasehun also said Buhari’s current cabinet is an insult to Nigerian experts at home and abroad.
